(Part-Time to Full-Time)
Citation Development Specialist
Profit Path SEO is a family-owned digital marketing agency focused on strategic, measurable growth for service-based businesses. We’re hiring a Citation Development Specialist who will start part-time and grow into a full-time role as client load and responsibilities expand.
- Google Ads
- Microsoft Advertising (Bing)
Role Summary
You’ll build, correct, and maintain accurate business listings (citations) that support local search visibility and lead generation. This includes auditing existing listings, fixing NAP inconsistencies, creating new citations on relevant directories, documenting listing URLs/statuses, and reporting progress in a way clients can understand.
This work is detail-heavy and process-driven. We’re looking for someone who can follow a checklist, catch inconsistencies, and communicate clearly when something doesn’t match what’s on file.
Reporting Expectations:
- Monthly progress reporting per client
- Clear list of what was completed, what’s pending, and what we need from the client
- Notes on issues that affect timelines (verification steps, duplicates, platform delays)
What success looks like (client-facing outcomes)
Clients expect their business information to be accurate everywhere it shows up online—and they expect us to prove the work is being done. Your work should strengthen local SEO foundations and reduce confusion caused by inconsistent listings.
Primary performance metrics we care about:
- NAP consistency (name, address, phone) across all directories
- Citation coverage (relevant directories completed per client)
- Duplicate listing cleanup progress (identified, suppressed/removed, corrected)
- Listing completeness (categories, description, hours, photos when in scope)
- Turnaround time per client (based on scope and verification requirements)
- Documentation quality (accurate URLs, statuses, notes, and next steps)

- Ensure listings match the approved client profile and brand details
- Track submission status and follow up when verification is required

- Extremely strong attention to detail and ability to follow a process
- Comfortable managing multiple client accounts and deadlines

- Google Business Profile familiarity (categories, services, basic troubleshooting)
- Experience with service-area businesses and/or multi-location businesses
- Strong spreadsheet skills for tracking and reporting
Hours + growth path
- Start part-time (~10–20 hours/week depending on client load)
